The Gram Seva Sansthan (GSS) is a voluntary and charitable, grass root level, development constructive organization. Integrated and sustainable development of the entire hilly terrain together with human resources, with the co-operation of the masses is the motto of the Gram Seva Sansthan. GSS is registered as a Society under the Societies Registration Act (1860) and under the FCRA (1976) with the Ministry of Home Affairs. GSS has active grass root level rural integrated development social research and technical support and working programmes in Water Resource Management, Rural Organizations monitoring, Environment Education and protection, Child Environment, Social Evils Eradication and Dulit Upliftment.

To behavior integrated sustainable development of Dalit, Tribal, women, children, aged, orphans, widows and handicapped in order to bringing the social, economic, educational, health, cultural, justice, freedom, equity, and peace and environment development. On the principles of village self-governance, building a self-dependence, equitable, cultured, and healthy, educated and decentralized society is the objectives of GSS. Gram Seva Sansthan established into being in the 1985 to effort the challenges faced by the poor mountain people along with Dalits and other marginalized sections of the society.

GSS has been visualized as an kind several efforts for putting Dalit Impulses and aspirations and preparing them on tracks of progressive accomplishment the objective set up is thus challenging, In efforts by Gram Seva Sansthan (GSS) the status and position of poor people, Dalit and marginalized sections has not improved except as tokenisms. Dalits continue to face the untuochability, low wages, discrimination, exploitation and atrocities, despite the formal protection guaranteed under the constitution. They are forced to remain as manual scavengers, agriculture labourers, and bonded labourers. In the labour market, forced to enter the Dalit children are also. There access to natural resources and information is very nominal.

Maintains active contacts with the major social research organizations based in Uttranchal and with a large number of NGOs through India and abroad. Gram Seva Sansthan (GSS) is operating from its center of operations, Rishikesh of Uttrakhand state of India.

Gram Sewa Sansthan GSS has been working on Disaster Relief Response Program DRRP manly from the last many years. Gss has a good experienced DRRP Team is working now evaluating and servaying of the affected areas. GSS has planning to work for 500 highly affected remote villages of Garhwal region of Uttarakhand.
